It's On: Gervonta Davis Makes Weight, Tips Scale at 129.8.

Gervonta Davis Leo Santa Cruz

Article by Rick Mohamed

It’s Official! Gervonta “Tank” Davis will not be forfeiting any parts of his purse this time for tomorrow night’s showdown Vs Leo Santa Cruz for the world title in the 130 lb weight division. Making weight was such a good thing that Tank gave 100% of his undivided attention to this camp and for this fight. I believe this may have some effects on Tank performance-wise. I mean, this is the lightest he’s been.
I think, just maybe, we may see a drained Tank Davis tomorrow. The outcome of this fight is a pick-em in my opinion. If Tank catches Santa Cruz with his best shots and Cruz doesn’t budge, it could be a long night for Tank. On the other hand if Tank catches Santa Cruz clean and rocks his world, then it’s lights out for Cruz.
Make no mistake, Santa Cruz is no slouch. This is a 4-time weight divisional World Champion in there with Davis tomorrow night. Santa Cruz says he brought in big sparring partners, welterweights if you will.
Tank has had the likes of his mentor and promoter Floyd “Money” Mayweather by his side most of this camp. I can assure you this is mainly why Tank for the first time in a while make the fight weight per his contractual agreement for this fight.
It will be on tomorrow night at the Alamodome.
This is going to be one spectacular fight and will be up for grabs! The smarter faster man that lets his hands go tomorrow night, plus makes no mistakes will be the victorious one.
