Oscar Valdez Thunders Miguel Berchelt in Devastating 9th Round KO!!

Early Knockout of the Year candidate surprises, shocks and amazes onlookers as Valdez serves notice

OMG, boxing fans! What a superb performance Oscar Valdez and his team delivered vs. Miguel Berchelt at the MGM Grand Bubble in Las Vegas, NV!
Valdez came out from the bell focused and ready to deliver his masterful fight plan against the Mexican superstar champion Berchelt. Valdez did everything right last night. He delivered great speedy, snappy jabs as he set the rest of his combinations up behind that jab.
I could see from the bell that Valdez was determined to give Berchelt problems all night.
He utilized the ring to his advantage and continued to display good fundamental boxing skills. Valdez had all kinds of success with that vicious left hook he has perfected. He also threw successful power shots to the body and his right hand was also effective. Oscar hurt Berchelt multiple times with the left hook, then would often add a volley of other punches.
Valdez had Berchelt out on his feet multiple times where Miguel’s legs were like spaghetti noodles, but some how he managed not to go down. Valdez continued to attack and menace him.
Eventually Berchelt took an 8 count from the referee in the fourth round as he stumbled back against the ropes. This is counted as a knock down because the ropes prevented Berchelt from going down.
The referee had him walk to him wobbly, but the bell ended the round. People, at this point, if I was the referee I would have stopped it.
Now Valdez continued pummeling Berchelt into tomorrow with non stop power shots to the body and the head. Make no mistake: Berchelt’s team is at fault here for not protecting their fighter from suffering some serious injuries, including death.
The ninth round arrives, and the tough champion continues to fight through all the pain and suffering he has sustained throughout the night. However, his body and mental state of mind were done.

When Valdez delivered his final devastating left hook to Berchelt’s chin, that sent him down in the scariest way. When ESPN replayed it again at top speed it was the sheer sound of the punch when it was delivered that was so devastating. BOP!
Congrats to Team Valdez on being crowned the new WBC Super Featherweight Champion of the World.
We at Brawlers also send our prayers out to Miguel Berchelt and his family and hope he has a speedy recovery. We pray that there is no severe bleeding on the brain or anything.
Well boxing fans what a night it was! In my opinion, although it’s still early in 2021 this fight right now holds down the KO of the Year award. Let’s see if we will see a Valdez vs Shakur Stevenson fight later this year. Until next time, LETSGOCHAMPS!! #THEBRAWLERSSPORTSBOXINGSHOW
