Philadelphia’s Atif Oberlton Triumphant in Debut Vs Nate Sharp on PBC.

Article by Rick Mohamed

He skipped the Tokyo Olympics to go Pro, and he just hit the ground running!

Philadelphia native Atif Oberlton was an Olympic hopeful with 100 amateur fights, a Junior Olympics light heavyweight championship and (2) Golden Gloves championships as well.
Oberlton is a tall lanky light heavyweight southpaw who puts you in the mind of Paul “The Punisher” Williams. Oberlton took charge of his 4 round pro debut tonight Vs Nate Sharp (4-3, 4 KOs). He came out in fire with excitement and victory written in his face, and he displayed and good solid jab and powerful body shots from the opening bell.
Oberlton said he passed on competing in the Tokyo Olympics (currently postponed due to the Pandemic) so that he could come into the pro paid ranks if boxing.
He comes from a good pedigree of amateur boxing and looks ready to take his career to the next level as a professional fighter. Oberlton has signed a promotional deal with PA’s own Kings Promotions Marshall Kauffman.
Not only did Oberlton win his pro debut, he won it in good fashion with a 3rd round stoppage of Sharp. After a volley of Oberlton’s devastating body shots prevented Sharp from continuing, the referee decided Sharp had seen enough. Congrats to “Team Oberlton”. #THEBRAWLERSSPORTSBOXINGSHOW
