Sweet Hands Plant Puts on a Boxing Clinic Vs Truax

Article by Rick Mohamed

In the Battle of the Calebs, Plant easily handles Truax. Now he’s on the road to unification vs. Canelo!

Caleb Plant was more than Caleb Truax could handle, and I’m sure the promoter and matchmakers knew this as well. Truax didn’t stand a chance as Plant plowed him down round after round, blow by blow.
With this convincing victory, Plant retained his IBF super middleweight title.
Plant came out throwing that snappy fiery jab, if you will. It wasn’t long before Truax faced showed damage from it. There was absolutely nothing that Truax could have done differently to weather this storm from hell that Plant delivered.
I wonder: was Plant just carrying him throughout the fight or could he not stop Truax? There wasn’t even a knock down in this fight, though Plant landed some heavy body shots on Truax.
The fight everyone wants to see is Canelo Alvarez Vs Plant. Now we’re talking! I believe the best should fight only the best, that’s what the strap says. You are the best in the world in the Super Middleweight division.
I think tonight may have been Truax’ last fight to end his career.
What do we all feel about a David Benavidez Vs Plant? This is another highly anticipated fight for Plant, should he accept the offer. If he wins this fight, he’s ready to fight Canelo, the WBA/WBC holder of the super middleweight titles, providing he wins his own fights.
Canelo next fights Avni Yildirim on Feb. 27, then he may fight WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders. After that, the scene is definitely set for a unification bout at the end of the year. Caleb vs. Canelo for all of the super middleweight belts, imagine that.
We all know Caleb Plant came from a good pedigree in the amateur ranks. Since his success as a professional fighter, it’s due time to step up to the plate and fight another elite super middleweight like himself, period. It may be Benavidez, or someone else.
Canelo and a huge payday and a chance at immortality await. Boxing fans, what do you think of tonight’s Main Event? Share your version of the recap. Congrats to “Team Plant”
