BREAKING NEWS: Duke Ragan Loses Gold Medal Fight, Gets Silver in Tokyo

Article by Rick Mohamed

Duke Ragan battled all the way from obscurity to the Tokyo Olympics boxing gold medal match for the U.S. team. However, he lost 3-2 to Russian Olympic Committee’s Albert Batyrgaziev. The Cincinnati, OH. native’s quest to become the first U.S. boxer to win the gold medal since Andre Ward in 2004’s Athens Olympic games ends with a silver medal. “…I’ll take a silver medal before I don’t get on the medal podium at all”, he said. The U.S. boxing team gas 2 more hopes for gold: super heavyweight Richard Torres fights for the gold on Sunday, and lightweight Keyshawn Davis battles for the chance to do the same if he wins Friday in the semifinals. Stand Up, Cincinnati! Queen City (the city’s nickname) has a real fighter in Duke Ragan!
