Minneapolis, MN. (August 7, 2021)Mykal Fox took over the fight from the longtime veteran amateur Gabriel Maestre, who constantly stalked him to no avail. Fox kept his distance, using his stealthy elusive ability at The Armory in Minneapolis, MN. on FOX PBC Fight Night. 

Maestre was an amateur world champion and 2-time former Olympian, losing only to the eventual gold medal winner both times. While Maestre kept pressuring him, Fox escaped many punches all the while throwing a couple of punches of his own that kept Maestre at bay. 

Fox knocked down Maestre in the 2nd round, but Maestre got up quickly and recovered easily. The damage was done=so many thought. Everyone thought Fox had won the fight easily. However, when the judges came in, it was Gabriel Maestre who got the victory. The crowd and the announcers calling the fight called it a “terrible decision”, and Fox was clearly disgusted by the judges’ decision.  Gabriel Maestre has to realize that he got an early Christmas gift from the judges, while Fox got a lump of coal though he was very good.
