Longtime Bad Blood: Dereck Chisora vs. Joseph Parker Throwback Interview & Pre-Fight Weigh-In

Article by Rick Mohamed

Dereck Chisora is ready, and Joseph Parker is too-after 18 long months, Parker’s illness and the Pandemic, no more talk, FIGHT!

British Heavyweight contenders Dereck Chisora (32-10, 23 KO) and Joseph Parker (28-2, 21 KO) have been trying to mix it up in the ring for quite a while now. They had an interview from 2019 that showed how ready they are to face each other.
However, Parker fell ill, postponing the original date of October 26, 2019, then the Covid Pandemic hit, postponing almost everything even more. Now, things are slowly returning to normal-that is, as normal as things can be under the circumstances.
The 2 principals are about to finally fight each other. Their battle is set for May 1, 2021, at AO Arena in Manchester, UK. Afterwards, we’ll see which contender will earn the right to catapult himself into the conversation of the top heavyweight contenders.
Which of these 2 will be ready to challenge the other Brits, namely champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, who are scheduled tentatively to fight this summer in the other all-Brit heavyweight fight.
Promoter Eddie Hearn’s company, Matchroom, is promoting this card.
He believes that their styles are suited for one another. “It’s just going to go off from the first bell of that fight, says Hearn, ” He’s (Parker) top five, top six with a couple of governing bodies now, if he beats Chisora, when these beats become fragmented in probably 2022, he’ll be right up there. As for Chisora, Hearn asks “When has he given us anything but top, top entertainment?”.
This is a very key fight for both fighters. The loser may lose his final shot at rising in the ranks and earn a title shot. Many predict Parker will win by outpointing Chisora, while some fee Chisora will rise to the occasion and end Parker’s run to the top, permanently. Expect both men to bring their A-game to this match! LETSGOCHAMPS!
