Jamel Herring Retains WBO Super Lightweight Title- TKOs Carl Frampton in 6!

Jamel Herring erases fans’ memory of his last lackluster performance by aggressively stopping Carl Frampton in 6 rounds

WBO Super Lightweight Champ Jamel Herring came out from the bell aggressively: walking Frampton down, getting his jab going early, and setting his punches up just beautifully. Challenger Carl Frampton held his own, make no mistake about it.
He had some success with his uppercuts and straight snappy jabs, but it wasn’t enough to keep this Marine out of battle, if you will. Herring had much success with his uppercuts and his looping hard left hand, not to mention some nice body work as well.
By the fourth round, blood started trickling down Herring’s right eye. I’m sure this was a moment of concern for his team. They were probably thinking ‘we have to get Frampton out of here before this cut gets worse and bothers Jamel’s vision’.
That’s exactly why Herring came out in rounds 5 & 6 and finally put Frampton away. He came out with a purpose and a vengeance, as if to say in military terms: when you are calling in for a fire mission to get the enemy off your back, “FIRE FOR AFFECT”!
That means drop everything you got on your position.

Herring caught Frampton with a thumping uppercut that put him on his a$, then caught him again, finishing him off with a hard looping left power shot. That’s when the referee stepped in and stopped the bout, making Herring the winner by TKO, retaining his WBO Super Lightweight title in Dubai, UAE.
Herring said he admitted he didn’t look his sharpest nor his best his last outing, and the fans as well as the media criticized him. They said he isn’t as good as people make him out to be, and that Frampton would prevail!
So Herring had everything to prove that he just had an off night his last fight. Actually, this happens to all fighters! You can’t always perform at the level so many are used to seeing you performing at.
There are variables: the biggest being, and remember this fight fans: Styles make fights
In addition, sometimes fighters aren’t charged up for lesser opponents, if you will. It happens to the best, but Herring proved he was up to the challenge tonight; he delivered and did not disappoint.
This was a very explosive title defense for Herring and a very impressive one at that. Brawlers would like to congratulate “Team Herring” on a great performance. LETSGOCHAMP!! #THEBRAWLERSSPORTSBOXINGSHOW
