Leonard Ellerbe: Fighters Like Jean Pascal "Should Be Banned for Life!"

Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, dropped a bombshell: he favors lifetime bans for those who test dirty, and Badou Jack agrees

Miami, FL.: Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, favors lifetime bans for fighters who test positive for banned substances in their bodies. When asked by Brawlers Sports CEO Rick Mohamed about Jean Pascal, who tested positive for several banned substances before his light heavyweight rematch with Badou Jack, he pulled no punches at all.
“It’s so _______ disgusting what Pascal did,” he said. “..this was definitely intentional”. He indicated that the banned substances are ones that have to be injected, and the story Pascal gave was unbelievable and without merit.
He continued: “I personally feel that he (Pascal) should be banned for life. He should never be allowed to step into the ring again.“. “We want to push the message and be advocates… that boxing be a clean sport”, said Ellerbe.
Badou Jack, Pascal’s scheduled opponent, agrees with Ellerbe. He also feels that Pascal shouldn’t go unpunished.
Pascal was tested positive for 3 drugs: Drostanolone, Drostanolone Metabolite, and Epitrenbolone. This was reported by Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole and echoed in Boxingscene.com.
Jack (23-3-3, 13 KOs) felt that Pascal was dirty before their first fight in December 2019. Pascal took Jack’s WBA light heavyweight title with a split decision, and this was Jack’s opportunity at redemption. He was left to either scramble to find an opponent on short notice, or give up the payday.
He found Venezuelan Dervin Colina (15-0, 13 KOs). They’ll fight a 10 round light heavyweight bout as part of the undercard of the “special exhibition” match between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul.
Brawlers Sports wishes all the best to Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather Promotions, and “Team Jack”. May they have a fruitful & entertaining event, win or lose!
