[Weigh-In Update] The Stage is Set for Lomo vs. Lopez This Saturday Night on ESPN.

Article by Rick Mohamed

After speaking with ESPN, Vasily Lomachenko AKA Lomo states he has no idea how this one year lay off will affect him this Saturday night as he takes on Teofimo Lopez. Lomo says he has never been out of the ring for this length of time ever in his career and only has his sights on taking care of business Saturday night when that bell rings.
Lomo says this will be a chess match, if you will. Lopez, on the other hand, states ‘Hey I’ve been in the game and have dedicated 18 years of my life!’
Make sure all you fans get ya popcorn ready for Saturday night because this is the takeover and he will be victorious. The WBC has stated whoever wins will become the new Franchise champion with all the other belts involved as well and will have special privileges with that franchise belt as Lomo currently has.
Make no mistake boxing fans: it appears we are all about to witness boxing at its best come this Saturday night. There will either be a new champion or Lomo will defend and “STILL” be Champion.
We have to admit, Top Rank Promotions has done an excellent job to bring this great sport called boxing back since the Pandemic. This has given many up and coming prospects a platform to appear on national television and showcase their talents. I can’t wait until Saturday night gets here with another explosive night of boxing. What about you?

On Friday, Oct. 16, the fighters participated in the weigh-in a day prior to the match. Both fighters made the agreed upon weight of 135 lbs., but they defied social distancing weigh-in rules and engaged in a severe, inches apart, electricity-filled stare down that greatly increased the anticipation for Saturday’s fights!
I’m excited! Are you, boxing fans?
